A feel good (real life) story...

Keesha is five years old. He lives in my neighborhood and this year he's going to kindergarten for the first time. He sports a big Mohawk and loves my dog. Good thing, my dog loves him back. So when I was on a dog walk and the five year old Bassett spotted the five year old kid, cuddles ensued.

Keesha, or so his 3rd grade sister told me, never washes his hands after petting an animal. I don't think Keesha or the dog cared! Keesha's sister however... did care about all the dog hair on the boy's school uniform pants. "Hey Tulsa," Keesha said to me "Help me get it off?"

I squatted down next to the boy and "dusted" off his pants... He smiled, and unwarranted, gave me the biggest hug a five year old could give a man more than three times his size. He laid his hand on my shoulder and asked, pointing at the dog, "is going home??" I replied that I thought that was probably best (seeing how dinner was brewing). He gave me a knowing nod and said, "Yeah, me too!"

He and his sister ran off before I could say goodbye... Sleep well Keesha, I hope you have a wonderful day in school tomorrow. Learn lots!

What a wonderfully weird weekend...

What a weekend! It's back to the slave grind today, but not until I archive the goings-on of this weekend, which in SL started for me on Thursday night. Me and Emily do a new show at Linri's. It's called Soul 2 Soul, and it's half romance and half party mayhem (you are used to from me). Kind of an odd combo, but it worked rather well. This Thu. we did couples dance first and party time last, next week (oh wait that's THIS week) we will be switching that around. We also are doing something called "A song of your own". It works like this: You request a song, and if you come back next week and I picked it for my playlist, not only will Emy have pre-choreographed it, you will make 100L$, just for having it picked... Just remember, you gotta be there to win!

Feenix, due to ongoing health problems in RL, is the insomniac from hell these days. That sux for her, but the upshot is, that she actually attends some of my shows she would normally not catch due to the time-difference between here (BBQ City) and there (The Queen's Country). So while I had to work without my partner Emy, Feenix came and kept me company... And boy was she a sight for sore eyes, Oh how I love that girl! Little hard to concentarte on the music maybe, but.... Baby, I love you, half-rezzed or otherwise!

The picture below is from the usual Sunday show at Linri's. That's me (left to right) Sister Emyly and good pal Casandra. Of course Emyly and me discuss clothing prior to show time, but we didn't tell Cas to also wear purple... Matter of fact I think I have never seen so much purple in one room EVER! Feenix would have been proud!

And now... off to work I jet.

A day sans Emy (but with Feenix)

It's hard to describe... I had to do a DJ/MC gig by myself.... Emy had some RL engagement she had to take care of. If it wasn't for my fans from Linri's (sorry P4) I don't think I would have done well in tips. Emyly really brings in the crowd, which is why I love working with her! People (myself included) just cling to her and it just isn't the same without her there.

BUT!!! Feenix was there and danced with me! Making time fly! She complained that her skirt didn't fully rezz. I didn't mind, I got to put my hands on her lush butt. That served two purposes... covering it from the world to see and well... me touching it.... hehehehe. I don't mind one bit if your skirt doesn't rezz babe. As long as I am there to cover you up. You know, the only thing that looks good on Feenix is Tulsa!

Tired and unhappy...

I am typing this from a shiny new Mac Mini... Having used everything from DOS 3 (MS, IBM, and DR) to AT&T Unix System 5 r4, several version of Linux, OS/2 And of course Microsoft's Windows in just about every incarnation it went through... I am surprised that it's taking me so long to get used to this! I have to switch (well I will never switch, but...) In the RL job we are getting more and more question about Macs and we can't just (or so it seems) give the standard answer anymore... We sell data.... that's all we do... Saying that it isn't compatible with Mac OS, well that was an option 5 years ago. No longer seems to be so... So the company freed up some money to buy a Mac and do some research. Me being the top-dog in the IT department (sometimes I love my job), I got to take it home.

But having heard all the Apple Fanboys go monkey-shit over how great Mac OS X is, quite frankly I am disappointed. It really isn't THAT good... Apart from the eye candy (yeah, is that really gonna make my work go any faster?) what do I gain?? Frankly not much!

Ok, I have to admit that installing applications is WAY easier on a Mac. But so far that is really the only benefit I have seen. And seeing how you only have to do that once per app, you really don't win much, now do you? An why on God's green earth does my Mac insist on throwing a virtual drive (or mount volume or whatever) on my desktop every time I start up IM?? Fine, but can it be unmounted automatically when I am done??

So far SL doesn't crash any less often then on my Windows PC. My MIDI keyboard (I am a musician too) places the central C on a black key in GarageBand. What the F*CUK guys... C = C = C = C! It doesn't recognize my web cam, which is the most standard Logitech device out there... and the list goes on and on....

I am so glad that when I do a DJ gig this afternoon (sadly without my sister Emyly) I can switch back to my Windoze machine. I would not be able to run a 2 hour show on this piece of JUNK!

A brand new day...

The title of this post points to a song that Emyly loves to hate. Everyone loves it, but it's impossible to choreograph... Or so she tells me... Well, I will just stick more gum in her hair until she gets it right!

Anyway... I was filling in for Winston last Thursday, and what I didn't know, is that it was going to be a full time engagement. Turns out he has some RL events and someone had to fill his slot. That someone is me, and of course I wouldn't do it without my (t)rusty sidekick Emyly. Frankly, I don't DJ/MC without her!! Not a chance in hell!!

So we have a new show planned... Part funky (of course) but also part romantic couples dance... We'll have to see how that works out. Basically, it's an hour of music I hate, choreographed by someone who loves that slow shit. Followed by an hour of funky fast tunes I love, choreographed by someone who hates that fast crap... No really, I wouldn't do this if I didn't love the music and Emy wouldn't be doing it if she didn't like to dance to it!

I think it's gonna be great fun! We have some specials planned that you will just have to come out for... not gonna tell you what they are (all I can say is: it involves us paying you)... So please join us on Thursday night when me and my ever-lovely sister present you with.... Soul 2 Soul

Legless in Seattle...

Blaze jacket + Edo pants + Shiny Things shoes + Some nameless designers' shirt = NO LEGS!!

I didn't even have to PhotoShop this! SL did this all by it's lonesome... Spooky huh?

AFK,,,

Just because I am logged in, doesn't mean I am there! I do this to people all the time... Just today Emyly asked me to check out this place... Well sorry sis, I was talking to Feenix. Not in SL, in RL, you gonna have to wait! There is a real person behind this pixel boy, and believe it or not... I find it hard to believe myself... he has a life!! (not much of one, but still)

Meanwhile, here is another outfit for ya... Yes we did use this for a show. Emyly looked cools too. I was white with burgundy, she was burgundy with white. If it wasn't for multiple reboots (damn that really hurts tips) I would have taken pictures...
